SHERIDAN – Coy Eugene Cantwell, Sr., age 82, of Sheridan, died Sunday, June 22, 2014.
He was born August 27, 1931 at Winchester, a son of the late Charles Cantwell and Annie Pate Cantwell.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Willie Cantwell; two sisters, Pearl Calvert and Mildred Vought; and a grandson, Nathan Lee Cantwell.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Billie Jo Lyons Cantwell, whom he married on March 24, 1951 at Pine Bluff; five children, Sheila Simmons (James Ray) of Pine Bluff, Eugenia Roberts (Allen) of Redfield, Coy E. Cantwell, Jr. (Cindy) of Sheridan, Donna Kokoruda (Bill) of Columbus, MS, and Charles J. Cantwell (Stephanie) of White Hall; a brother, J. C. Cantwell of Rison; two sisters, Beatrice Pennington of Sheridan and Maxine McGarrity of White Hall; 15 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Brother Charles Cantwell officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
