Jefferson County says near 9,000 cast early vote

Early voting for the Nov. 5 general election in Jefferson County set a season high Friday.

The count of 1,184 topped the previous high of 1,124 on the first day of early voting Oct. 21. As of Friday, 8,879 votes have been cast, according to the Jefferson County clerk’s office, for a daily average of 807.2.

Early voting continued Saturday and will conclude Monday with booths open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
