The Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service announced the election of officers for the Hope Empowerment local 4-H Club. The officers were selected at the club meeting June 26, according to a news release.
The officers are President Carley Holman Harrison, Vice President Peightin Seals, Secretary Bailey Winston, Treasurer Kamauri Briggs, Photographer Kavion Watson, Reporter Wodelyn Shavers and Recreation Leader Martez McAfee.
Arkansas 4-H is committed to fostering youth development and growing future leaders. Through club, county and state participation, youths develop and exercise leadership skills, gain a greater awareness of their civic responsibilities, participate in service projects and are represented on community decision-making bodies, according to the release.
Youths learn to be engaged, well-informed citizens who are active in their local and global communities. Through leadership development programs, Arkansas 4-H fosters important life skills, including leadership, civic engagement, communication and public speaking.
