The Pine Bluff City Council will have its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday. The agenda includes a range of proposed ordinances and resolutions that will impact the city’s property management, nuisance abatement efforts and the Civic Auditorium Complex Commission.

Resolutions concerning the appointment of Clarence Holman, Shelita A. Womack Clifton, Joyce M. Scott and Krystal Nicole Stafford to the Civic Auditorium Complex Commission by Pine Bluff Mayor Shirley Washington will be presented at the upcoming meeting. They will be replacing commissioners whose terms have expired or where there are current vacancies, according to the resolution. Those commissioners whose terms have expired include Monique Benford, Lisa Kosmitis and Chandra Griffin. The commission oversees the operations and programming of the city’s Civic Auditorium. The new terms of the selected positions are set to expire in either 2028, 2029 or 2031.

The City Council will also consider resolutions regarding the reappointment of Jimmy Dill and appointment of Nancy Lee McNew to the Urban Renewal Agency Board. According to the resolution, the mayor has elected to reappoint Dill, with his term ending Dec. 31, 2028. McNew will replace Lynn Long Guynn, who has vacated his position. The term will expire September 30, 2026. The board oversees the Urban Renewal Agency.

A resolution authorizing the conveyance of real property will be discussed. This resolution proposes the sale of a city-owned property at 4803 W. Barraque St. to Leonard Lewis and Ronnie Tisdale for $500. The purchasers will be required to raze and remove dilapidated structures on the premises within a specified timeframe.

A resolution authorizing the conveyance of real property (Lots 1 and 2, Block 20, Monks Western Addition #2) will also be up for discussion. This resolution proposes the sale of two city-owned lots to Susan Chen for $1,200. The sale aims to return the property to private ownership and generate property tax revenue for the city.

The city council’s agenda includes two other resolutions: one to revise an existing resolution on nuisance abatement by removing a specific property from the list and the other to establish a process for including the costs of addressing particular nuisances as delinquent taxes on property tax records. This action aims to hold property owners responsible for the expenses incurred by the city in resolving these issues, ensuring accountability.

The City Council meeting will include a public comment period for residents to express their views on agenda items. The meeting will be at the Pine Bluff City Council chambers.
