Steven Mays, a Pine Bluff City Council member, was recently appointed to the Arkansas Municipal League’s Advisory Council for Cities of Large First Class for 2020-2021.
Mulberry Mayor Gary Baxter, the newly elected Municipal League president, appointed Mays to the panel, according to a news release.
The purpose of this advisory council is to allow representatives of cities of similar size to get together and discuss their mutual problems and advise the league staff members and executive committee about the types of services and policies they would like for the league to pursue.
The advisory council will meet virtually at the call of the chairman, president, executive director or any three members.
Mays is a 4th Ward city council member and the only certified Municipal League representative on the council, according to the release.
