DUMAS — Cornelious Hollinshed, Jr., 93, of Dumas died Thursday, December 01, 2011 at Delta Memorial Hospital.
Born March 05, 191 in Gould, Ark., he was a son of the late Cornelious Hollinshed, Sr. and Idella Gordon Hollinshed. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Mitchellville serving on the Deacon Board, Church Treasure, And Choir member.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Webb Hollinshed of Dumas, four sons, Herbert Hollinshed of Brawley, Calif., Herman Hollinshed of Lexington, Ky., Cornelious L. Hollinshed of Hot Springs, Nolan L. Hollinshed of Dumas; two daughters, Barbara Hemphill of Los Angeles, Calif., Linda A. Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Samuel Hollinshed, Alonzo Hollinshed both of Kansas City, Kan., Celester Hollinshed of St. Joseph, Mo.; two sisters, Veola Richardson of Kansas City, Kan., Willie Mae Washington of Mitchellville, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday December 10, 2011 at Almeta Baptist Church at Reedville with Rev. Timothy Ramey officiating. Burial will be in Almeta Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas. Visitations will be from 4-5 p.m. Friday. Family hour will be from 5-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
