Art League plans projects
The Pine Bluff Art League announces its holiday crafts workshop and an exhibition will be held in November.
The art league will host a free Jolly Holiday Crafts workshop starting at 9 a.m. Nov. 18 at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center, 211 W. Third Ave. The league invites area artists and beginners to attend.
Independent reporting for Pine Bluff & Jefferson County since 1879.
“Under the direction of league members Vickie Coleman and Julia Barrett, participants will decorate dazzling Christmas ornaments and learn how to craft beautiful holiday cards,” according to a news release.
Artists should bring an alcohol ink, acrylic paint, 90-proof alcohol, soda straw, and a disposable cup. The league will have brushes and table coverings on-site to use. The league suggests bringing a container to carry home their art piece.
Also, the art league invites the southeast Arkansas community to view its new exhibition at the Reynolds center. This exhibition will remain on view through December.
“Members tasked themselves to spend 30 hours on new artwork to help build patience and challenge themselves to further their artistic vision. Artists delivered diverse styles, harnessing the strengths of their chosen mediums to depict various subjects,” according to the release.
To join the art league, participants pay yearly membership dues of $45. Artists can mail a check to Pine Bluff Art League, Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Building, 211 W. Third Ave., Box 8, Pine Bluff, AR 71601. Members may have their work shown at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas during the annual Pine Bluff Art League Juried Exhibition.
