UAPB hosts Chancellor’s Ice Cream Social
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will host the annual Chancellor’s Ice Cream Social from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the William O’Bryant Bell Tower. All UAPB students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to attend.
“The event is free of charge, and we encourage everyone to bring their Golden Lion pride to celebrate the beginning of another exciting year at UAPB,” according to a news release.
This event marks the official welcome from UAPB Interim Chancellor Andrea Stewart to the campus community.
The program will feature a special performance by UAPB’s band, the Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-South, under the expert direction of John Graham Jr. Attendees will also be treated to routines from the UAPB Spirit Team, including the Cheer Squad and Pom Squad, led by coaches Calvin Burgess and Candace Hines.

McGehee School Board to meet
The McGehee School Board will meet at 5 p.m. Monday at the high school library, according to a news release. The agenda includes invoices and financial statement, student academic data or performance, administrator reports and executive session.
Grand Prairie art contest to open
The 68th Grand Prairie Festival of the Arts is accepting applications for the Visual Arts contest in all mediums at the Arts Center of the Grand Prairie in Stuttgart.
Artists may enter their work in this juried exhibit by going to www.grandprairiearts.com and completing an application, according to a news release from the Grand Prairie Arts Council.
The schedule of events includes:
Receive entries — Sept. 20, from noon to 5 p.m. and Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Reception/awards — Oct. 1, from 5-6:30 p.m.
Exhibit — Oct. 1-31.
Exhibit Check Out — Nov. 1-2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

UA Little Rock names Chancellor’s List
