RISON – Claudie Eddith Harden Woods, 96, of Rison,
Went home to Heaven Saturday, March 7, 2015.
Born July 10, 1918 at Kedron Community near Rison,
she was a daughter of the late Logan Edgar Harden and Sarah Jane Cash Harden.
Mrs. Woods was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. Known for her green thumb, she filled her days working in her yard, solving puzzles, and reading her Bible.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Harry Edward Woods, on May 12, 1978; an infant son, Edward Byron Woods; siblings, Harrison Harden, Sissy Peck, Celinda Harden, Lottie Maupin, Gracie Rodgers and Adele Harden; a grandson, Mickell Edward Woods; and a son-in-law, Ronald Saunders.
Mrs. Woods is survived by her sons, Harry “Sonny” Woods (Mae), Bobby Woods and Marshall Woods; daughters, Lillie King (Roy), Laverne Woods, Dianne Woods and Sharon Saunders; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren,
and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 2:00 p.m.
at Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Brashears officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. at the Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
