City of Pine Bluff to offer free gift cards for completing Census

The city of Pine Bluff will offer free gift cards to people who fill out the 2020 Census from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23, in the parking lot behind Neighbor to Neighbor, 1419 S. Pine St. Free gift cards will be given only to citizens who haven’t completed the Census, according to a news release.

Citizens will be able to collect a gift card by driving to the parking lot and completing the census in their vehicles. WiFi and Google Chromebooks, provided by the Pine Bluff School District, will be available. Citizens may use the WiFi on their own devices or use Chromebooks to complete the census questionnaire. Tables will also be set up for walk-ups. If people have completed the census prior to the event, they are encouraged to invite others who haven’t done so.

Participants will also receive water bottles, other Census information and face masks. Public health safety measures will be implemented throughout the event to protect against COVID-19.

Funds for gift cards are provided by a grant to the local Census panel, the Pine Bluff Complete Count Committee, according to a previous news release.

The 2020 Census is also available online at www.my2020census.gov. Details: Mary Liddell, Pine Bluff Census Complete Count chairwoman, 870-643-2383.
