The Prayer Garden Christian Faith Center COGIC, 800 S. Apple St., has scheduled a series of upcoming health events.
A 60-second CPR video will be shown at the church at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4. Other information and materials provided by the American Heart Association will also be available.
Also, the church will join with the National American Heart Association GO RED for Women movement during its 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, worship service. Diann Williams, vice president for Assessment and Nursing and Allied Health at Southeast Arkansas College in Pine Bluff since 1994 and first lady of Prayer Garden since 1994, will give a talk on heart health and hearth disease, the No. 1 killer of women.
And from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, Prayer Garden will sponsor the Arkansas Minority Health Commission My Health fair, during which screenings for blood pressure, glucose (blood sugar), cholesterol, pulse/temperature and weight/BMI will be available. A variety of health education materials will be provided.
