NEW HOPE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH in Moscow will observe its annual youth day at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Leon Williams Jr., pastor of True Vine E Missionary Baptist Church of Pine Bluff.
NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH, 321 N. Birch St., will celebrate its Women’s Day service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The featured speaker will be Jenise Sandy Todd, a local pastor. A Women’s Day choir will sing. Choir rehearsal will continue at 6 p.m. today. The original service was cancelled because of a power outage in the community June 9. The program is hosted by New Community’s first lady, Janice Lockett. The pastor/apostle is Patrick Lockett.
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 6501 S. Hazel St., will conduct Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 13. VBS is free and open to all children who have completed Pre-K through grade 6. (Children must be at least 5 by Aug. 1.) At the conclusion of VBS, a family picnic for all participants and their families will take place in the fellowship hall. “This One Day VBS will be an event to remember! BARRAQUE STREET MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1800 W. Pullen St., will host “FRANgelism” beginning at 11 a.m. each Sunday in July. “Simply put, FRANgelism is evangelism to our Friends, Relatives, Associates, and Neighbors,” according to a spokesperson. Each Sunday, invitations are extended to family, friends and colleagues. All are welcomed to attend FRANgelism. The Rev. Sidney D. Milton Sr. is the pastor. BARRAQUE STREET MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1800 W. Pullen St., will hold its annual Vacation Bible School at 6 p.m. July 16-18. Activities for youth and empowerment workshops for adults will take place. There will be something for everyone from ages 2 to 92. The theme is “God’s Superheroes” (Hebrews 11:1-2). Youth will have daily lessons, art activity or physical activity. Adults will learn about estate planning, financial literacy and health. Refreshments will be served.
