The ABA Friendship Association District Ladies Auxiliary held its quarterly meeting in the spring at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Rison and is preparing for its summer gathering.
Debbie Leopard of the host church, greeted everyone and asked Julius Carter of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Dumas to open the session with prayer, according to a news release.
The congregation sang “Somebody Loves Me,” led by Leopard with Debbie Bumpass of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Star City at the piano.
President Tracy Harrington of Bethlehem called the meeting to order and prayer requests were given. Cody Andrews of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Hot Springs led in prayer.
Leopard gave the welcome with Vera Reynolds of Holly Springs giving the response. Kurt Neeley, a missionary from Missouri, spoke about his plans for beginning his mission work in the St. Louis area.

The roll call of churches and the minutes from the last meeting were read by secretary-treasurer Donna Collins of Bethlehem.
The next meeting will be on July 11 at Bethlehem. A motion was made by Sandra Weaver of Bethlehem, with a second by Leopard, for the offering from the July meeting to be given to Will Diggs, a missionary in the Little Rock area, sponsored by Center Fork Baptist Church in Hot Springs.
Following prayer by Rickey Collins of Bethlehem, he and David Harrington took up the offering, which was for Neeley. The congregation sang “Love Lifted Me.”
Leopard then led a praise program in which she encouraged everyone to be workers for God. David Harrington led in prayer and Andrews introduced the morning speaker, Neeley.
A song, “I Know the Master of the Wind,” was sang by Mildred Carter of Calvary. Neeley then brought a message from Matthew 9:9-13, “Jesus loved All people.”
The congregation then sang “Love Lifted Me, Again.” Karon Wynn of Holly Springs, gave the hand of appreciation to Neeley.
The secretary’s report showed there were auxiliaries represented with five; women present 25; preachers present four; visitors three for a total of 32. An offering of $400 was collected to be sent to Holly Springs, sponsoring church for Neeley.
The group was reminded that July is the month of offerings for the seminaries. Julius Carter of Calvary gave the dismissal prayer and asked the blessing on the meal provided by the host church.
