Christian Women Connection to host ‘A Williamsburg Christmas’

Danny Holcomb, a Pine Bluff native, will be the special musical artist bringing “Melodies Spun by the Town Crier” for Thursday’s luncheon of the Pine Bluff Christian Women Connection.

The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pine Bluff Country Club.

Holcomb has been involved in music his entire life having grown up in a family of five brothers, all of whom are singers. He has been singing publicly since he was a very young man, both as a soloist and as a part of the Holcomb Brothers Quartet and the Johnny Parrick Triumphant Quartet.

He is the facility manager at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He is very involved in the Pine Bluff community, serving as president of the Watson Chapel School Board and is a graduate of the Greater Pine Bluff Leadership School. He and his wife, Karen, have two children, Daniel and Nikki, who are following in the family singing tradition.

“Weaving A Wonderful Tapestry” will be brought by Merv Brunskill, the special speaker. Brunskill is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and has lived on the East Coast, the Midwest and Africa. Brunskill moved to Hot Springs Village from the Kansas City area.

She worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in California and in Kansas City. She enjoys traveling, reading, playing golf, and bird watching. She enjoys talking with people and has been told that her laugh is contagious.

This event is sponsored by the Christian Women Connection, which is a part of Stonecroft Ministries in Kansas City, Mo. Christian Women is a non-denominational group with no formal membership, attendance requirements or dues. There are over 2,000 groups meeting throughout the United States and Canada.

All women in Pine Bluff and surrounding communities are invited to attend the luncheon. The cost is $13.50, which includes tax and gratuity.
