SHERIDAN – Charles Van Wood, 73, of Sheridan passed away May 16th, 2015, with his family by his side. A private Memorial Service and Family reunion will be held at his home in Sheridan, Sunday May 24th.
He was born May 21st, 1941, in Warren AR to Sterling Wood and Laura Cotton Wood.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Waggoner
Charles is survived by his wife Barbara Wood, daughter, Susan Cowen of Little Rock; two brothers, Dewayne Wood and wife Norma of Benton, Jack Wood of Camden, Tenn. and sister, Virginia Shuffield of Cameron Texas and two grandsons. Step-sons, David Peveto of Sheridan, Michael Peveto of Oklahoma City and grandson Spencer Peveto. Also by numerous nieces and nephews
Charles was a 1959 Graduate of Dollarway High School, after which he joined the Air Force.
He lived several years in Oklahoma City, where he met and married the true love of his life, Barbara Sedoruk Peveto, in 1990. They moved to Ark. where they built their home on Clearwater Lake.
He worked as a Supervisor for Stant In Pine Bluff 22 years until retiring in 2012.
He and Barbara attended Seventh day Aventist Church. Charles was loving caring person that was taken from us too soon by cancer. He was loved by many and will truly be missed.
