HOT SPRINGS — Charles David Scheu, 71, of Hot Springs died April 28, 2012. He was born June 6, 1940 in Little Rock to the late Pauline and Curtis Scheu. Charles graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1958, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1990 and completed postgraduate studies at the University of Central Arkansas in 1994. After 40 years’ service, he retired as a locomotive engineer from Cotton Belt Railroad. For two years, he was an adjunct instructor at SEARK College. He was a longtime member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and a member of Elk’s Lodge # 380 in Hot Springs. Survivors include daughter Thyra Kay Crisel, of Burton, MI; son Edward Curtis Scheu, of Pine Bluff; son James Frederick Scheu, of Hot Springs Village; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ASPCA.
