GULFPORT, Miss. — Charles Gary “Uncle Buddy” Conn, 80, of Gulfport, died Friday, February 3, 2012. Mr. Conn was a charter member of Extended Hands Assembly of God Church in Gulfport and was greatly involved in southern gospel music until his death.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Conn; sister, Joy Boykin and brother, Jerry Conn.
Survivors include his two sisters, Merle Longnecker of Gulfport and Audrey Beth Smith of Troup, Texas; brother, W.B. Conn of Tonball, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Conn’s name to Extended Hands Assembly of God, 16427 Shaw Road, Gulfport, Miss. 39503.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. -1 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Extended Hands of Assembly of God Church with services beginning at 1 p.m. with Rev. J.P. Sherman officiating.
Interment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Irving, Texas at later date. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th Street, Gulfport, Miss. is in charge of funeral arrangements.
