Jefferson County Judge Dutch King on Tuesday declared a burn ban effective immediately.
According to a press release from the Office of Emergency Management, King said “due to a lack of needed precipitation, dry conditions exist over all of Jefferson County. This increases the level of fire danger tremendously.”
King said the ban will include the cities of Pine Bluff, White Hall, Humphrey, Sherrill, Altheimer, Wabbaseka and Redfield.
The ban will continue until further notice.
