Bond set for man who allegedly had stolen car and gun

A $10,000 bond was set Wednesday for a man who was allegedly in possession of a stolen car and stolen gun.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jason Debro Jr., 19, with two counts of theft by receiving.

According to a probable cause affidavit from Pine Bluff Police Detective Ryan Moheb, police on Tuesday located a red Honda Civic that matched the description of a vehicle used in an aggravated assault, and Debro was seen walking back and forth in front of the car.

A check of the license plate indicated that the car had been reported stolen in Redfield. When Debro was arrested, the keys to the car were located nearby.

Moheb reported that when Debro was searched, police found a 9-millimeter handgun in his pocket, and a check of the gun’s serial number showed it had been reported stolen in Pine Bluff in 2012.

When Debro was questioned, he allegedly said he had not been in the car and did not know how the keys ended up at the location where he was arrested.

The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Debro, who had no prior convictions or pending charges.
