WHITE HALL – Billy Wayne Burks, 62, of White Hall, died Tuesday at JRMC. He was born April 23, 1953 in Pine Bluff to the late Vester and Bessie Anderson Burks. He was a preacher and a truck driver. He was the pastor for Whispering Pines Cowboy Church in Pine Bluff.
Also preceding him in death were his son, Billy Wayne “Tater Bug” Burks Jr.; and 6 brothers, V.J. Burks, Roger Burks, Hershel Burks, James Rufus Burks, David Earl Burks and Roy Ray Burks.
Survivors include his wife, Hallie Gerard Burks of White Hall; 2 daughters, Stacy Amanda Burks Chaney of Cincinnati, Ohio, Stephanie Burks Hinkle of White Hall; 2 sisters, Artavia Shelton, Barbara Burks, both of Pine Bluff; 6 grandchildren, Dakota Brawdy, Alex Brawdy, Callie Thompson, Charleston Hoehaver Hinkle, Bentlee Burks Chaney, and Hadlee Burks Hinkle.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday at Whispering Pines Cowboy Church in Pine Bluff. Bro. Gregg Spann of Cross Bar C Cowboy Church, Roger Gaunt of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, and James Watson of Greenlee Baptist Church will officiate.
