The Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance has partnered with nonprofits across the state to promote Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Black Friday promotes holiday shopping and Cyber Monday encourages online sales, however Giving Tuesday highlights opportunities for charitable giving during the holiday season, according to a news release.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson proclaimed the day as Giving Tuesday in Arkansas, according to the release.
“We would like to encourage all Arkansans to celebrate Giving Tuesday in Arkansas by donating to a local nonprofit of their choice,” Stephanie Meincke, president and CEO of the Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance, said in a news release. “With the generosity of the holiday spirit in mind, Giving Tuesday was developed to give back to organizations that provide priceless services to our communities throughout the year. By donating to a local nonprofit this holiday season, you are giving back to your community in a meaningful way.”
To make donations to various non-profit agencies, participants may visit visit ArkansasNonprofits.org Nov. 29. They may also join the conversation by using the hashtag #GivingTuesdayAR on Facebook and Twitter.
