September is Hunger Action Month and the Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas Inc. will be sponsoring a food drive with participating local businesses.
Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to their local Area Agency office or their local senior center the week of Sept. 22-26. In Pine Bluff, the Area Agency on Aging office is located at 801 E. Eighth Ave. All food items donated will stay in the county in which you donate and reside.
Area Agency on Aging provides services in a 10-county area which includes Arkansas, Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Cleveland, Desha, Drew, Grant, Jefferson and Lincoln counties. Fliers will be placed in all counties to collect food that will be given to the elderly, disabled and needy in these locations.
Fliers regarding Hunger Action Month drop-off points, as well as, fliers telling the location of the SNAP mobile will be posted throughout Southeast Arkansas.
