An Altheimer woman who was killed in an accident Saturday night was walking across the highway when she was struck by a vehicle.

A report from Altheimer Police Cpl. Larmarcus Nowden said Cynthia Powell, 52, was walking west on Cantrell Road.

As Powell crossed U.S. 79, she stepped into the path of a 2000 Toyota driven by George Bloom, 22, of Pine Bluff, that was southbound on the highway, Nowden said.
