MONTICELLO — Alice S. Bates, 85, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at her home. She was born February 12, 1928 in Drew County, the daughter of the late Zed Sawyer and Anna McKay Sawyer.
Survivors include one son, Gerald Bates, Jr. and wife, Victoria of Monticello; one granddaughter; three grandsons; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several brothers and sisters in laws, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special cousin, Barta Sawyer Montgomery of Monticello.
