Full Counsel Church will sponsor the third annual Unity in the Community Walk to motivate residents to remain positive about the progression of Pine Bluff.
The event will also include a family fun festival at the conclusion of the walk.
The community is invited to join the march at 10 a.m. May 5 from the Pine Bluff Civic Center to the steps of the Jefferson County Courthouse while declaring “Rebuild, Restore, Renew the City of Pine Bluff.”
Organizers are asking for participation from city and county government officials, political candidates, local churches, civic and social organizations as well as businesses.
Several speakers will give brief presentations at the round-up on Eighth Avenue. The percussionist section of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s band will march and play in the procession to the courthouse.

There will be a release of commemorative memorial balloons after the reading of names of those who lost their lives to violent crimes from January through May 2012. Surviving family members are encouraged to attend this memorial.
A family fun festival will take place on the main parking lot of the courthouse after the walk and will end at 4 p.m., according to Sandra Bennett-Carter, event coordinator.
The festival activities will include jump/bouncers, face painting, balloon artists and live entertainment. Trained medical professionals will be on site to offer free screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, BMI and other issues.
Interested food vendors must contact Lakisha Hill of the city’s Zoning and Inspection Office for a temporary street vendor food license.
Rev. Vincent Johnson, pastor of Full Counsel Church, said he is ecstatic encouraged by the many people who helped develop the project.
