20th Century Club discusses plans

After a three-month summer vacation, the 20th Century Club met recently at the Trinity Wellness Center. The hostess was Jeanne Cheek with co-hostess Rene’ Mitchell.

Linda Minyard, president, called the 2016-2017 meeting to order by reminding the members of the club motto, “All life is Beautiful to Whosoever will think beautiful thoughts.”

The collect was quoted by the members and new handbooks were distributed.

The Christmas committee noted that the luncheon would be held at the Margland Bed and Breakfast. The club also decided to sponsor angels for the Salvation Army Angel Tree again this year.

Linda Eifling gave the monthly book report: “The Nightingale” by Kristin Hannah, about two sisters in World War II France. One struggled to survive in the countryside and the other joined the Resistance in Paris.
