Candidates and supporters waved their hands and their signs at passersby and would-be voters on Tuesday in front of the Jefferson County Courthouse as early voting got underway for the March 3 primary. Early voting, which ends March 2, will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 23 and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 2.
