NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH, 321 N. Birch St., will celebrate Women’s Day on Sunday. At 11 a.m., the featured speaker will be Tacarra Goodwin, a member of New Community. At 2:30 p.m., the guest speaker will be Jenise “Sandy” Todd, a local pastor. Donna Huskey will direct a special Women’s Day choir and LaKresha Franklin will be the emcee. GRACE EVANGELICAL BAPTIST CHURCH, 4210 S. Ohio St., will host the Prayer and Pizza Gathering for youth from 2-3 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be John Proctor, youth director of Pleasant View Ministries and director of recruitment at Southeast Arkansas College. Prayer and Pizza is a monthly event where participants pray for and encourage children. The event is free and the community is invited to attend, according to coordinator Dee Clay. GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE, 2400 W. 31st Ave., will continue its Grace Evangelistic Crusade at 6 p.m. today. The pastor, the Rev. Robert Anderson, invites the community to this outdoor service. If there is rain, the service will be moved inside. Also, at 6 p.m. Saturday, the church will host a block party barbecue. “Come and fellowship with us,” a spokesman said.
