Bond set in alleged forgery, theft

A $2,500 bond was set Thursday for a woman who allegedly cashed a check made out to another woman.

Circuit Judge Rob Wyatt Jr. set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Haley Hendricks, 30, with one count of forgery and one count of theft of property.

According to a probable cause affidavit from Detective Sgt. Michael Roberts, Hendricks took a check for $4,300 from Progressive Insurance and cashed it on Monday at a liquor store in the Dollarway area. The check was made out to another person.

Roberts said in the affidavit that Hendricks cashed the check without permission and when she was interviewed, she allegedly said she took the check and cashed it.

Also according to the affidavit, Roberts said Hendricks may be charged with two other offenses that are still under investigation.
