Deacon Johnny Washington was born to the late Reuben and Sally Washington on August 15, 1932.
He received his education from the Grady, Ark., Public School System.
He was a farmer for many years before being employed by the Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel Company where he worked until his retirement.
He was united in holy matrimony to Annie Henderson, May, of 1955.
He was a member of the Saint Bethel Baptist Church and served faithfully as a deacon until his health failed.
He peacefully departed this life March, 28, 2016 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Marthy Stephens, Lillie Mae Stephens, Cassie Mae Hunter, and Betty Lowe.
He is survived by a loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Mrs. Annie Washington; three sisters, Maxine, Erma, and Dorothy; two brothers, Harry and Reuben and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Saint Bethel Baptist Church with the Reverend Louis Williams, officiating. Interment will be at the Graceland Cemetery with services entrusted to the P.K. Miller Mortuary. Visitation is from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the P.K. Miller Mortuary. Deacon Washington will lie in repose at the church on Wednesday, from 12 p.m. until the time of service.
