Ruby Rogers
WHITE HALL – Mother Ruby E. Rogers, 104, of White Hall passed on October 5 at UAMS. Ruby was born on February 26, 1911 to the late Robert Williams and Emma Warren Williams in Nevada County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five siblings-Matilda Hicks, Bertha Williams, Lee Henry Williams, Henry Lee Williams and Robert Williams, Jr.
She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age at St. Matthew Baptist Church. She married Eugene Rogers December 7, 1928; they were married for eighty-eight years. She was a member of Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church where she served over thirty years as a deaconess, missionary and mother of the church. Most recently, she was a member of Family Baptist Church and Ministries.
She leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Thurston G. Rogers of Detroit, Mich., Henry L. Rogers, Sr. of Pine Bluff; daughters, Louise Gayden of Buena Park, Calif., Dorothy Stephens of Benton Harbor, Mich., Linda McGrue of St. Louis, Mo., Mary Hopkins and LuPhelia Atkins of White Hall; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, great-great-great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless relatives and friends.
Celebration services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Family Time Baptist Church and Ministries. Visitation will be today 5-7 p.m. at Christian Way Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cypress Memorial Gardens in Pine Bluff.
