Ruthie Green


The life of Ruthie Beatrice Green began on August 22, 1940 in Pine Bluff, Ark. She was born to the late Andrew Thomas Sr., and Lillie Mae Jefferson Thomas and the late Dallas Walker. She was the first of 13 children with four brothers and a sister preceded her in death. She attended school at Coleman and worked at an early age to help take care of her family. From August 2003 until early 2013, she was employed at Precious Memories Childcare Center as an infant caregiver. She confessed her life in Christ at an early age.

In 1960 she married in holy matrimony to the late Nathaniel Green, Sr. and to this union seven children were born.

She departed life on Friday March 13, 2015 in Little Rock, Ark.

Her parents Andrew and Lillie Mae Thomas and Dallas Walker preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Green McMiller and four brothers, James Earl Thomas, Chris Ray Thomas, Andrew Thomas Jr., and George Thomas and a sister, Viola Thomas.

She leaves many memories to be cherished by her six children, Barbara (Tommy) Johnson, Nathaniel (Loretta) Green, Jr., Debra (Alonzodora) McGehee, Donnell Green all of Pine Bluff, Lora Jackson of Atlanta, Ga., and Angela Green of North Little Rock; sisters, Maudester (James) Battles, Joanne (Donnie) York of Pine Bluff, Lee Ann Dorn and Shirley (Linzy) Wright of Milwaukee; brothers, Jessie (Jean) Thomas, Cleophus Thomas, Chester Lee Thomas and Kenneth Wayne Thomas of Pine Bluff.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Full Counsel Christian Fellowship by Rev. Silas V. Johnson. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Henson-Holcomb Mortuary.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the mortuary.

The remains will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until funeral time.
