On Jan. 28 at 3:19 p.m., a two-vehicle accident was reported on Interstate 530 at its intersection with U.S 270/ Sheridan Road.

Charles D. Yoder of Greenbrier said he was stopped behind another vehicle at the yield sign located on the northbound off ramp. He said he looked to see if there was any oncoming traffic and when he said he did not see any other vehicles, he started forward, not realizing that the vehicle in front of him had not turned onto U.S. 270/Sheridan Road. He said his right bumper made contact with the rear bumper of the other vehicle.

There was no apparent damage to the 2011 Chevrolet he was driving.

The driver of the other vehicle, Kieke T. Beavers of Pine Bluff, said she was stopped at the yield sign located on the northbound off ramp. She said she was waiting for a black pickup to pass so she could turn onto U.S. 270/Sheridan Road when her vehicle was hit from behind, causing minor damage.

Damage to the 2011 Chevrolet driven by Beavers was estimated at $800.

Yoder was issued a citation for following too close. Beavers was issued citation for failure to register and no proof of insurance.

On Jan. 28 at 3:35 p.m., a two-vehicle accident was reported on Arkansas Highway 256 west of McGehee Street.

Cassie B. Sanchez of White Hall said she was eastbound on Arkansas Highway 256 when she started slowing down for a truck in front of her that was attempting to turn onto McGehee Street. She said when she stopped, she looked in her mirror and noticed that the vehicle behind her was not slowing down and then the other vehicle struck the vehicle she was driving.

Damage to the 1999 Chevrolet she was driving was estimated at $4,000.

The driver of the other vehicle, Brett C. Burchett of White Hall, said he was eastbound on Arkansas Highway 256 when he looked down to adjust his air conditioner and did not see the other vehicle stopped in the traffic lane, hitting the other vehicle in the rear.

Damage to the 2000 GMC he was driving was estimated at $4,000.

Burchett was issued a citation for following too close.
