SHERIDAN – Willie Lois “Bilbo” Cardin Smith, 100, of Sheridan, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Born August 6, 1914 in the Cedar Branch community, she was a daughter of the late William Edward “Jake” Moltz and Lettie Mae Lewis Moltz.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of First Southern Baptist Church. For many years she was a member of Cedar Branch Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith enjoyed quilting and traveling, but most of all, she enjoyed her family and friends. She was well-remembered for making divinity candy at Christmas time and sharing it with countless people over the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Cecil Cardin and John Smith; siblings, Sie Moltz, Clifford Moltz, Ella Mae Blocker, Blanche Johnson and Betty Brown; two grandchildren, David and Donna; a great-grandchild, Justin; and former daughter-in-law, Robbie Minter.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Bob Cardin (Wanda), Vernon Cardin, Wanda Thomas (Robert) and Peggy Johnson (Wendell); ten grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 1 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel
with Brother Carlin Gray, Micah McKinley and Feral West officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Branch Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
