Almus Laxson


ROGERS – Almus Eugene Laxson, 84 of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, January 6th, 2015, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville after a brief illness. He was born September 2, 1930 in Clarendon, Ark. to parents Almus Gardner Laxson and Lena Mae Clark.

Gene was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force as a disabled veteran and was proud of his military service throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Eugene; his brother, Billy Joe Samuels; his sisters, Betty Deaton Berry and Betty Jean”Bib” Laxson Snyder.

Survivors: Loreta Muriel Laxson, Sheryl Laxson Brown, Carol Laxson Turley, Saundra Van Landingham, Cynthia Brennan, Stephanie Doss, Greg McAdoo, W. F. Deaton, Jr., Francis Leggett, Joy Sabatini, and Almus Gardner “Bubba”Laxson, Jr., five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. , Sunday, January 11th, 2015 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 905 South 13th Street, Rogers, Ark.. The internment will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 12th, 2015, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark..
