Joella Evans


TAMO – Mrs. Joella “Joe” Smith-Evans was born January 27, 1957 in Tamo, Arkansas to the late William Smith and Hazel King-Smith. She departed this life December 17, 2014 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Rosetta Brazell and Ethel Nesley; brothers Roosevelt Brazell, Joe Edward Brazell, and Curlee Brazell.

She leaves to cherish her memory a husband of six years Carl Elton Evans of Pine Bluff, whom she married November 14, 2008; three sisters Rhodie Smith-Alisworth of Pine Bluff, Ark., Lucille Brazell of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Margie Parker of Danville, Illinois; seven brothers Lawrence Smith (Marzella), Tommy Lee Brazell (Vinnie Mae), Lester L.B. Brazell, McKinley all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Willie Drew Brazell of Champagne, Illinois, Emmett Bearden and Ozell Brazell of Chicago, Illinois; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A home going celebration was held at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Deeper Revelation Ministries, 507 Laurel Street Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
