Nathaniel Meadows


MILWAUKEE – Rev. Nathaniel Meadows, Sr., 94 of Milwaukee formerly of Dumas passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at Clement Zobloski Medical Center in Milwaukee.

Born August 29, 1920 in Pickens, he was the son of the late Ezra and Awilla Jones Meadows. He was a member of Palestine A.M.E. Church West of Dumas, the former Pastor of Ross Chapel AME and Shady Grove AME, an Army Veteran, and a retired mechanic. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosie Lee Lacy Meadows and a son Tom Myles.

Survivors include two sons Robert Lee Myles of Dumas, Nathaniel Meadows, Jr. of Milwaukee, six daughters, Edna M. Olive of Little Rock, Betty Jean Myles, Susie M. Patterson, Carolyn M. Racks, Ledora Meadows all of Milwaukee, Delois Dobbs of Houston, Texas, 27 grandchildren, 45 great- grandchildren, 30 great- great- grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Bethlehem Worship Center in Dumps with Rev, Walter Witherspoon, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Green Mt. Cemetery in Coleman by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 12noon until time of services.
