Mr. John Bernard Dixon was born December 29, 1950 in Pine Bluff, Ark. to Joseph C. Dixon and Pearlie Mae Dixon. John accepted Christ in his life at an early age at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Pine Bluff, Ark.
John received his formal education in Pine Bluff, Ark. where he maintained an A plus average throughout his primary and secondary school years. In 1969 he graduated from Merrill High with a 4.0 GPA.
He was employed by Pine Bluff Paper Mill after graduating in 1969. He later moved to Milwaukee, Wis. for several years. John then returned to Pine Bluff where he held numerous of odd jobs including working for Eugene Simmons and John Good.
In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He devoted much of his time as a caregiver to his mother, Pearlie Mae Dixon and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph C. Dixon; his brother, Wayne E. Dixon and three sisters, Judith Thomas, Rosie P. Groom and Francis Dixon.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Pearlie Mae Dixon of Pine Bluff; his daughter, Kamona Dixon; two granddaughters, Monique and Danae Hill all of Milwaukee; four brothers, Stanley Dixon of Pine Bluff, Raymond Dixon (Terri) of Milwaukee, Stephen Dixon (Denise) of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Reginald Dixon (Carolyn) of Rowlett, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at St. Peters Catholic Church by Father Anil Thomas. Burial will be in Matin Cemetery on Highway 63 by Henson-Holcomb Mortuary.
Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012 at the mortuary.
