GOULD — Two Russellville men were shot and wounded on East Van Buren Street in Gould in an apparent robbery attempt Monday night.
Police have one man in custody but are searching for a second suspect, said Lincoln County Chief Deputy David Parker.
Deputies on Tuesday arrested Braden Stephens, 21, of Gould as a suspect in the case, Parker said.
Parker said another man from Russellville was beaten in the same incident while a fourth man from Russellville escaped the assailants.
The sheriff’s department had not released the victims’ names at press time.

Stephens is facing charges of aggravated robbery, first-degree battery, burglary, second-degree battery, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, all felonies.
The victims were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Their conditions could not be immediately determined.
Deputies Sgt. Kenneth Tilman and Wayne Edwards responded to a call about a shooting at about 7:10 p.m. Deputies were first dispatched to The Filling Station on U.S. Highway 65 but were then led to an address on Van Buren Street.
