Cortez Smith and Justin Carbage recently completed a seven-month course to become certified global career development facilitators.
Smith is director of the Career Pathways Initiative at the University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Technology-McGehee and Carbage is a career advisor for Career Pathways. They completed 120 hours of coursework and received certificates of completion.
The course was offered through the Arkansas Department of Higher Education by the National Career Development Association’s Career Development Facilitator Training.
Smith joined the UAM COT-McGehee professional staff in 2014 after spending three years as program coordinator for the Office of Student Life at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He holds a bachelor of science degree in human development and family studies from UAPB and a master’s degree in higher education student affairs administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Carbage joined the McGehee campus staff in 2015. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in English and liberal arts from UAPB and a master of science degree in college student personnel from Arkansas Tech University.
