Two local bankers were among 30 Arkansas bankers honored with the BKD Milestones in Banking Awards at the 126th annual Arkansas Bankers Association Convention.
Al Lowery and David Rushing, both of Simmons Bank, were honored for 40 years of service to the banking industry. The convention was held May 12 at Little Rock.
Lowery, who is vice president/commercial loans at Simmons Bank, began his career as a management trainee at Simmons in 1974. He has since served in various capacities, ranging from branch manager to operations officer.
Rushing, who is senior vice president/operations director at Simmons Bank, began his career as a night computer operator at Simmons in 1975. Since that time, he has worked in electronic banking, accounting, and information technology.
This marks the second year for the Milestones in Banking Awards, sponsored by BKD LLP. To be eligible for the awards, bankers must have served 40 plus or 50 plus years and be actively employed by an Arkansas bank.
