Xi Delta Beta installs new officers at recent meeting

The Beta Sigma Phi Chapter of Xi Delta Beta recently held its meeting at the home of Trisha Shank.

Debby Davies called the meeting to order with all members repeating the Opening Ritual together.

There were five members present and two guests.

The minutes of the March meeting were read and approved with no corrections.

The chapter record review form was passed around and members were asked to make any corrections.

There were no other communications to report.

Guests Tina Gilliam and Liz Lively were present. Gilliam presented her enrollment application to Davies.

Rhonda Gammel presented the treasurer’s report. The treasurer’s report was approved as read.

There was no Executive Board meeting to report on.

Committee Reports

• The Ways and Means Committee handed out raffle tickets to sell for various restaurant gift certificates. The following members are responsible for obtaining the following gift certificates: Davies — Scotty Rays; Cindy — Fiesta Mexicana, Gammel — Moores, Sara Milner — Colonial Steak House and Leons Catfish, Shank — Charros.

• The Service Committee will find out information on the canned food drive.

• Scrapbook Committee requested all pictures that members may have from May 2011 to current.

Milner reported on the City Council meeting:

• New officers were installed: President Davies; vice president, Skye Rauls; recording secretary, Amanda Terry; treasurer, Nancy Tucker; corresponding secretary/sunshine, Milner.

• Delta Zeta is holding their annual crawfish boil fundraiser on Saturday. The cost is $20 per person. T-shirts are $17 and huggies are $3

The 2012 Arkansas State Convention will be held in Hot Springs on June 22-24. Everyone is responsible for turning in their own registration.

The business meeting was adjourned.

Cultural Program

• Gammel presented a program on autism in honor of Autism Awareness Day.

All members read the Closing Ritual, then joined hands for the Mizpah. The dollar pot was drawn and secret sister gifts were exchanged.
