Wright-Pastoria Water Association to receive improvement funds

The Wright-Pastoria Water Association in Jefferson County has been approved for funding to improve its system, according to a news release from the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ANRC).

The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission recently announced approval of a loan up to $500,000 from the Arkansas Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund, in accordance with the established funding priorities, to the Wright-Pastoria Water Association, according to Commission Chairman Fred Fowlkes.

“The total loan amount will be in the form of principal forgiveness. Approval is contingent upon the applicant establishing and maintaining a 6 percent depreciation fund,” according to the release.

“The funds will be used to replace the existing water distribution piping, approximately 317,000 linear feet of waterline to prevent major water loss. The number of customers served will be 495,” said Mark Bennett, ANRC Water Development Division Manager.
