Woodlawn’s Miller three-hits Parkview

LITTLE ROCK — Dillon Miller allowed just three hits as Woodlawn beat Parkview 14-4 on Monday.

Miller went four innings and did not walk a batter while striking out seven.

Offensively for Woodlawn (12-2), Daniel Rissinger had two hits and drove in three runs and Trey Hankins had two RBIs. Gavin Johnston and Jacob Richardson each had two hits for the Bears.

Woodlawn plays at 4:30 p.m. today at home against Magnet Cove.

Star City 5, Hermitage 3

STAR CITY — A four-run fifth inning led the Star City baseball team past Hermitage 5-3 on Monday.

Star City (8-3) had a 1-0 lead after the first inning, but Hermitage (8-5) scored three runs in the third inning before the Bulldogs took back the lead in the fifth.

Austin White got the win for Star City as he went 5 2/3 innings and allowed six hits, did not walk a batter, hit one and struck out three. Zack House picked up the save as he struck out three of the last four batters in the game. The Bulldogs did not have an error in the game.

Slade Hawkins led Star City’s offensive attack as he went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Hunter Johnson also had two RBIs and Ryan Mills was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Star City plays at 4:30 p.m. today in Hamburg.

DeWitt 14, Drew Central 4

DeWITT — Drew Central fell to DeWitt 14-4 on Monday after a two-out error put the baseball game out of reach for the Pirates.

Drew Central (3-7) trailed 8-4 in the sixth inning when it had a pop-up in foul territory dropped for the potential third out. DeWitt (7-4) ended up scoring six runs after that.

Will Jackson took the loss for Drew Central as he went 3 2/3 innings, gave up four hits, six runs and struck out four. Aaron Goad had two hits for the Pirates.

Drew Central plays at 4:30 p.m. today at Smackover.

SOFTBALL

North Little Rock 5, Watson Chapel 4

NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The Watson Chapel softball team dropped a 5-4 game to North Little Rock Monday after leading for all but the bottom of the seventh inning.

Watson Chapel (4-3) had a 4-2 lead going into the last half inning of the game. Two errors, a walk and two stolen bases helped lead to North Little Rock’s three runs for the win.

Megan Greer took the loss as she went seven innings, struck out six batters and walked five.

Lexie Downing, Sydney Crossett, Precious Goodwin and Megan Moore all had a hit for Watson Chapel, which won the junior varsity game 4-1. Downing got the complete game win.

Watson Chapel plays at 4 p.m. today in Helena-West Helena Central.
