A Pine Bluff woman died following a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon and the State Crime Laboratory has been asked to do an autopsy.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley said Tuesday the medical examiner will be asked to determine the “cause and manner of death” of Elizabeth O. Browder, 31, who died at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
A preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police said Browder was northbound on U.S. 425 in Lincoln County Monday when her car drifted across the southbound lane, into a ditch, then hit a tree.
The accident was reported at 2:36 p.m. north of Arkansas Highway 199 and Trooper Byron L. Calhoun reported that the roadway was wet at the time.
Kelley said Browder’s body was picked up Tuesday morning and he expected a preliminary report back in five to 10 days.
The preliminary report indicated Browder was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
