A first-degree battery case involving a 47-year-old Pine Bluff woman has now been upgraded to a homicide.
Pine Bluff Police said Wednesday that Tarlesha McPhearson was shot on Aug. 2 near the intersection of West 12th Avenue and South Cypress Street after an unknown Black male fired into a vehicle driven by Edward Creggett.
McPhearson, who was hit in the face with a bullet, died Aug. 18, according to police. Police are still investigating the homicide, as a suspect has not been identified.

After entering the vehicle, Creggett told police, the unknown male fired one shot through his driver’s side window, striking McPhearson in the face.
