WM, also known as Waste Management, has announced it plans to start collecting its 96-gallon residential waste carts for unincorporated areas of Jefferson County beginning Monday and continuing through Jan. 10.

The collection will not affect residents of Pine Bluff, White Hall, Redfield or Altheimer.

“Residents must place their WM 96-gallon waste carts at the curb for WM to collect the carts,” WM said in a news release Friday. “WM cannot enter a resident’s private property, such as their side yard, backyard or driveway, to collect carts that are not placed at the curb.”

Jefferson County announced last month it has partnered with LRS South for residential solid waste services in unincorporated areas of the county. The service was to go into effect Thursday.

LRS is the rebranded name for Lakeshore Recycling Services.

LRS customers are asked to only use the company’s blue trash carts for waste collection.
