Southeast Arkansas College has received a $60,000 donation from the Windgate Foundation to support student scholarships, the college announced.

SEARK said in a news release the donation would be directed toward students in need of financial assistance, which further supports the college’s commitment to providing “accessible, affordable education to the community.”

“Windgate Foundation is proud to be among your supporters and looks forward to hearing of your successes and accomplishments in the coming year,” the foundation said in the release.

Based in Little Rock, the Windgate Foundation is known for a commitment to advancing education, the arts and community development. The foundation says the contribution to SEARK represents an investment in students and the region’s workforce.

“This generous donation from the Windgate Foundation directly impacts our students’ ability to succeed,” SEARK President Tyrone Jackson said. “Scholarships not only ease financial burdens but also open doors of opportunity for students to stay on track, complete their education, and move into meaningful careers. We are deeply grateful for Windgate’s partnership in our mission.”
