The Willing Workers of White Hall Extension Homemakers Club met at Marnette Reed’s home for their December meeting/Christmas Party.

Vice President Dee Kindrick welcomed everyone and asked guest Brenda Robinson to bless the food. Members had a meal of chicken spaghetti, green bean bundles, salad and bread, and lots of desserts.

The Thought of the Month was read by secretary Jo Ann Carr: “What we give, whatever we get, Christmas itself is the best gift yet. Let’s have fun but remember the reason for celebrating the Christmas Season,” according to the news release.

Kindrick led the members in the Homemaker’s Creed. Penny Scholes read the Handy Hint: “Spread the cost and save time with Christmas food shopping by adding a few extra items to your cart every shopping trip from the beginning of December.”

Sarah Payton read the Inspiration from Isaiah 9:6. Carr called the roll with members answering the question: “How many people do you buy for at Christmas?”

Six members were present and eight guests: Mary Ann Kizer, Jefferson County Extension Homemakers advisor; Sarah Kindrick, Mary Wall, Delores Kelley, Peyton King, Brenda Robinson, Johnny Reed and Dale Payton.

During a short business meeting, Sarah Payton announced she and Penny Scholes had delivered 29 dolls and 100 caps to Arkansas Children’s Hospital and 30 blankets to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences during the Festival of Stars event. Members decided to bring canned soup, canned chili and crackers to the January meeting for the White Hall Food Pantry.

Kizer announced to the club that they had come in first place in the Delta District and third in the state in the Fall Walk Across Arkansas.

Elizabeth Wall read the “True Christmas Story,” displaying each item as she told the story. Members then played several games of Christmas Bingo with everyone winning at least one prize. The last game was Christmas Song Emoji Trivia with Brenda Robinson winning it.

Members collected $42 for the White Hall Food Pantry with Penny Scholes winning the afghan. A cookie exchange was held with every one going on with a variety of goodies.

The next meeting of Willing Workers of White Hall EHC will be Jan. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the White Hall Library. If you are interested in attending, please contact any member of the club or Mary Ann Kizer, Jefferson County Extension Family & Consumer Sciences agent at the cooperative extension service, (870) 534-1033.
