LITTLE ROCK — Senior Britteni Williams recorded her second double-double in three games as the Arkansas-Little Rock women’s basketball team beat South Alabama 55-43 Wednesday.
Williams scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Taylor Ford scored 13 points and tied a career-high with seven assists.
UALR improved to 11-10 overall and 6-2 in the Sun Belt.
The Trojans came out of the gates strong as they built a 14-point lead in the first 20 minutes of the game, 29-15. The 15 points in the first half was a season-low for South Alabama (11-9, 4-4).
The Jaguars cut the deficit to 12 at the 13:12 mark before the Trojans scored six straight points to go up 42-24 with 10 minutes left in the game.

UALR’s biggest lead was 53-32 at the 4:10 mark before South Alabama went on an 11-2 run to close the game.
Taylor Gault scored 13 points for UALR with 11 coming in the second half. UALR’s starters outscored South Alabam’s 51-to-28.
For the game, UALR held South Alabama to 24.5 percent shooting from the field (13-of-53), including 6-of-23 from three-point range (26.1 percent).
The Trojans outscored South Alabama 20-12 in the paint and scored 17 ponts off 15 South Alabama’s turnovers.
